Step one drill to the rebarSTOP

Remove the hammer bit from the hole...

Here's how...

When rebar is encountered while drilling
with a rotary hammer and a carbide hammer bit,
immediately stop the hammer and remove the bit
from the hole (failure to do this will severely
damage a carbide hammer bit-regardless of
manufacturer's claims).

Tips...

Don't push excessively hard when drilling with a hammer bit
Let the drill motor do most of the work.
Listen for a noticeable change in the sound the bit makes when it encounters the rebar.
For best results, always use a sharp bit.
